Riley’s on Main in Johnston will cater the meal Our guest speaker will be Lewis J. “Jackie” Swindler, the Director for the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Will we have entertainment, awards and door prizes.

Thursday, Oct 25th from 6:30-8:30 Make an heirloom that will be used for fall seasons for years to come. This gourd is a simple addition to your fall and Thanksgiving décor. Cost is $35 and includes the gourd, stains, and sealer to complete the project.

There will be a train ride for the little tikes, rock climbing wall for the adventurous type and the bungee for the daring on Saturday after the parade. Everyone is invited to participate in the Watercolor Paintball Smash to create a watercolor masterpiece. Pat Asbill will throw the first pitch after the parade. Make your mark on the canvas that will be hung in a prestigious location for all to enjoy. Other events will also be available.

On September 29th beginning at 8:30, Barbara Yon and members of AARS will demonstrate the basics of mosaics. Students will apply cut glass to the risers of the steps at the Art Center. Beginner Stained Glass Class The Art Center in Ridge Spring will be hosting a beginner stained glass class this July 17th to August 7th. In this class you will learn all of the basics of Stained Glass design and the techniques needed to create stained glass art. This class will leave you with a solid base knowledge of working with stained glass! It is exciting and fun! Your instructor, Vernon Robinson, is an expert stained glass artist with decades of experience. He will share his love for stained glass with you and by the end of class you will have your own 8x10” suncatcher to bring home. All materials and tools will be provided for this class. Just bring yourself and your dreams of creating stained glass art of your very own! The class is smaller in order to handle one-on-one assistance so sign up now to save your space!

Everyone is invited to come to Ridge Spring, SC on Saturday, July 14th at 9 0'clock at the gazebo to paint an old piano. Young and old are welcome to come and help decorate the piano for everyone to enjoy playing as soon as the paint dries! Paint will be furnished by the Art Center of Ridge Spring. The piano will be left in the gazebo to play anything!

Saluda County Schools will hold a live "Winner Take All" auction this Saturday, May 19, 2018 beginning at 9:00 A.M. The auction will take place at Herlong Stadium. There are over 150 items (chairs, desks, tables, risers, cleaning equipment, etc.) that will be sold in one Lot. The items can be previewed starting at 8:30 A.M. Saturday morning.
Kim Ruff will host a pottery class making a Garden Angel (male or female). This class will be held on Monday, May 14th at 6:30 at the Art Center. Students may make a herb pot and possibly some garden stakes (“dill”, basil, etc). Class cost is $35 and includes clay, glazing and firing. Students can bring apron to protect clothing. Saluda County Schools will be holding a silent auction on Saturday, May 12, 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Bettis Herlong Football Stadium. Items in the silent auction will include, but not limited to: desks, chairs, book shelves, tables, cooking utensils, large cooking pots, dish pans, meat slicer, food warmer, playground equipment, lockers, cleaning equipment, welding machines, a lawn mower, speakers, etc. Bids will be awarded starting at 10:05 a.m. and individuals must be present at this time. A quilter from Wagener will teach a 5-week quilting workshop starting Monday, April 9th. Students will have a choice of 10-12 am, 2-4 pm or 6-8 am for the class each week. Pick your preferred time.
